As Transformers: Rise of the Fallen has shown (apparently), you don't need a good script, just LOTS OF CGI and a bit of arse to rake in the money.

Or, Paranormal Entity, you don't need a big budget just lots of hype to rake in the money.

The last is apparently as scary as hell. Haven't seen it though.

The preview looked interesting, I'll give it that. I've heard mixed reviews.

Hopefully the next revelation is that you can't fix the script or acting with CGI.

Amen!

These quotes stood-out from the rest:

Peter Guber, the chairman of Mandalay Entertainment and a former head of Sony Pictures, said: "The machine didn't fly last summer. If you look at the movies and the names, they were not star-driven movies."

Hmm, that's odd. It's almost as though there's something else than a big name on the billboard that makes a film great.

Jason E Squire, a cinema professor at the University of Southern California, said: "Nobody says that a big wonderful movie needs to be expensive, it's just that has been the trend. Perhaps the trend is misguided."

Woah, you have to be a professor to make that observation?

Reminds me of rule hundred-and-whatever from that Evil Genius Handbook that was floating around in the Nineties: 'Any plan I come up with I will first pass by an eight-year-old for troubleshooting.'
