The logic of displaying the Facebook/Twitter crosspost boxes has changed:
- The ability to crosspost comments that are protected (on a protected post or a screened comment) has been disabled for non-cyrillic users (cyrillic-services accounts still have the option)
- If you haven't connected a Twitter or Facebook account, the option to crosspost won't show on comments
- The option to crosspost/repost won't appear when one edits a comment
- When crossposting/reposting an entry or comment you can now select what thumbnail photo to repost as well by clicking "Choose a pic"

It looks like the Cyrillic option is a potential security ... issue.
Not really an issue for me, but still....

And the decision to end LJtxt two weeks ago and not mention it? Strikes me as typically dismissive behaviour.

I turned off Greasemonkey and the FB script does appear to be missing. Although I'm still being given the option to log in to FB at the top. Personally, I dread seeing the "Follow us to see the most popular stories among your friends -- or sign up for our daily newsletter below" box popping up over the entire of the Internet (as seen at io9 in the past week, and in other places) which I cannot make go away.

Oh, and BTW, anyone can opt in to Cyrillic services, which enables the crossposting, switch back to a normal looking LJ header, and you have no way of telling who has or hasn't. So, err, they've shut half the barn door after the horse has bolted.

Heh, yeah. Just so long as you don't actually have any expectation of privacy on LJ, it's not a problem. I need to go and delete all my old entries over there.
