There's a book meme going around.  Part of it asks your favourite line.  I don't read Iain Banks.  Never got into him.  But I did read Use of Weapons some years ago.

"The bomb lives only as it is falling."

Brilliant. Now that I'm reminded of it I might have a third candidate for the tattoo. Wouldn't look out of place there at all.

I was never too fond of Iain "with an M" Banks. but of his non-Sf, I'm still very fond of the opening of The Crow Road:

It was the day my grandmother exploded.

I love a good opening line in a book. Clive Barker's Books of Blood had me with "The dead have highways.".

I love Iain Banks, with M and without. It's a great line, that bomb line.

Of course, the "bomb" in question is a mentally unstable mercenary who is a pawn of both his past and an interstellar anarcho-socialist uptopia run by computers.

Just something to think about, before you get it inked on your skin. ;)
