The camping sounds great. We lugged light packs for 25k to the Wilson's prom lighthouse a while back. That was hell on legs.
It could have been more forgiving, but on the second day we deviated from a defined route onto a 'trail' defined only by markers and ribbons tied to trees. That was pretty much a 60-75-degree angle the whole time. Got a few cuts and bruises. Kept it interesting though.
