(no subject)

So I'm sitting here listening to Fear Factory and doing pro bono copy work for an accountant in Helsinki as CV filler. It's less boring than what I currently do for a wage, and more boring than doing something else.*

John Cusack and Tim Robbins starred - early in their careers - in a movie called Tapeheads directed by ex-Monkee Michael Nesmith. It could almost have been a Savage Steve Holland flick. It took the same comedic liberties with reality that Better Off Dead did (and featured uncredited cameos by a tonne of people, like Stiv Bators and Weird Al Yankovic.). There's a scene early on where they're on the roof of their apartment at dawn, when Robbins suggests going into business for themselves as low-budget video entrepreneurs. He described the idea as "Do what you gotta so you can do what you wanna." I never forgot it.

Doing work like this puts me in good company. At some point all the greats did this.

You never see a starship captain use the bog.

*: Brought to you by my need to do something else.

I am saddened I (almost) recalled the registation number of the original Enterprise.

I am unsurprised I found this: http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Toilet
